Langdale Chase was built n 1890 by Mrs Howarth, the widow of a wealthy businessman, and building work took five years to complete. After her death, a collector called Mr Willows and his wife bought the property, and brought with them treasures including fine old oak, paintings, and china plates that are still displayed in the Baronial Hall today.
