Blue Oyster Hotel is a small family-run hotel with a personal atmosphere. Our attentive staff will make your stay feel like a home away from home. The African way of life combined with Western standards creates the perfect setting to spend a unique vacation. Responsible tourism has a high importance for our daily business. We do not offer facilities such as a pool or air conditioning, as we are trying to reduce the environmental, social and economic impact that is caused by tourism. With this concept in mind, we are happy to welcome many guests each year.

Our history starts with the German owner Klaus Beiser, who opened the hotel on December 26, 1999. Ever since this day, we have been constantly improving our hotel to offer the best services and comfort possible. Now, managed in the second generation by a team of highly motivated employees mostly made up of locals from the surrounding village of Jambiani or the island of Zanzibar, the hotel provides an unforgettable holiday experience. We are currently offering 15 rooms, either classic sea view rooms with stunning views of the Indian Ocean or budget-option garden view rooms.

Situated along the white, sand Jambiani Beach, Blue Oyster Hotel features sun loungers along the beach with thatched Makuti parasols. There is also a rooftop restaurant and a beach bar.

The rooms come with carved Zanzibari-style beds, a desk and fan. Some rooms also offer a balcony and sea views. The en suite bathrooms are equipped with a shower.

Guests can relax by the beach, in the garden hammocks or with a massage. The hotel has a ngalawa fishing boat and snorkelling equipment available for rent. There is also a small library with international books and a shop with locally produced souvenirs.

The restaurant serves a variety of Swahili and international dishes featuring fresh seafood, vegetables and fruit. The Beach Bar serves lunch, fruit juices and cocktails.
