The project tends to highlight the existing environment, following the spirit of the place: a rural countryside manor house.
The designing work is very soft, played on contrasts: traces from the past, dusty plasterworks, lava-stone walls, wooden craftworks in the wine press rooms, they all fit smoothly with the contemporary pieces added to comply with modern standards and needs, bringing all features to new life.
The aim of the project is to distinguish, at first sight and in every portion of the building the additional contemporary works, enabling the visitors to catch the original essence of the place: perception is the leitmotiv which has driven this project, everything is perceived as it was one hundred years ago when the surrounding nature was prevailing on any aspect. This concept has been applied into every space, In the cellar rooms, for example, there is still the perception of a whole spacious room once containing the wine barrels, despite the very defined white blocks containing the bedrooms.
