The Fitzgibbon family have been running Ahernes since 1923, Originally a traditional Pub and Shop selling everything from a pint of Guinness to a pound of Butter run by Madge & Jimmy Aherne. The second generation Betty Aherne married a dashing Army Officer named Gerry Fitzgibbon and they started Ahernes specialising in the freshest locally caught seafood. Now run by John & David with their wives Katie & Gaye on hand to give personal advice to the weary traveller & ensure you a warm Irish welcome.
