Originally designed by Lawrence Murray Dixon, one of the principal architects of the Tropical Art Deco Style of the 1930's. In the 1980's the boutique hotel was owned by the founder of Island Records, Chris Blackwell, the label that signed Bob Marley and U2 then also housed South Beach Studios, where Aerosmith, Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams, among many others, have recorded their music. British Fashion Icon barbara Hulanicki designed the interior combining cool ocean hues with the vibrant designs of Jamaica, where Blackwell grew up.

The white sands of South Beach are steps away from this boutique hotel. Features include free high speed WiFi, rooms with a 55-inch flat screen TV, and a fully-stocked minibar.

Blackout drapes, a spacious closet, and premium blankets and bedding come standard at The Marlin Hotel. Private bathrooms house Mistral Verbena scent bath products and spacious showers with pebble flooring and a rainfall showerhead.

The Marlin Hotel provides beach bags and beach towels to guests as well as an on-site launderette and 24-hour reception.

The shops, restaurants, and nightlife of Lincoln Road are less than 1 mile from the hotel. The Miami International Airport is 20 minutes' drive and the Wolfsonian Museum is 5 minutes’ walk.
