Chateau De Picomtal

Rated 9.6 in 166 reviews. 9 rooms.

We have renovated the Chateau between 1999 and 2003, to create a special place different from a regular hotel, in a 19th-century atmosphere. Coming at Picomtal is like traveling in the past. Everything is quiet and peaceful. Fountains, birds and flowers replace a TV.

Chateau de Picomtal is set in a renovated 14th to 16th century castle overlooking the Serre-Ponçon lake, in the Hautes-Alpes. It has a floral garden and courtyard, and offers en-suite accommodation with free WiFi access.

The Picomtal’s spacious guest rooms are housed in the historic chateau and they are decorated with antique furnishings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Guests of the Chateau De Picomtal can explore the extensive French garden, orchard and cobblestone courtyard. There are also guided tours of the chateau and the chapel and the owners can offer advise on what to do in the area. Cooking classes may also be arranged.

Chateau De Picomtal provides free private parking and guests can enjoy hiking, watersports and cycling in The Ecrins National Park and visit the the Boscodon Abbey and the Vauban Forts. Les Orres ski resort is 12 km away.
